Cyber Crime Awareness Seminar for First-Year B.Tech Students

As part of the Bridge Course Activities for first-year students, Madhuben & Bhanubhai Patel Institute of Technology (MBIT), CVM University, organized a Cyber Crime Awareness Seminar on 20th July 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the MBIT Auditorium.

The session was conducted by PSI B. S. BharvadASI Mustakim Malek, and IT Expert Pranay Parmar. The programme was coordinated by Mr. Sunit Parmar and Dr. Parvin Sodagar.

The seminar focused on creating awareness among students about the growing challenges of cybercrime in today’s digital world. The resource persons discussed various cyber threats, including phishing attacks, hacking, identity theft, online banking fraud, social media scams, cyberbullying, and data privacy issues. Students were also introduced to cyber laws, digital ethics, password security, safe internet browsing practices, and effective methods to protect personal information from cybercriminals.

The speakers emphasized the importance of responsible digital citizenship and encouraged students to verify online information, avoid sharing sensitive personal details, and promptly report suspicious online activities to the appropriate authorities. Practical demonstrations and real-life case studies made the session highly informative and interactive.

The seminar successfully enhanced students’ awareness of cyber security and equipped them with essential knowledge and practical guidance for safe and responsible use of digital technologies.
